Properties.
Phosphatidylserine is a phosphorus-containing compound, a derivative of phosphoric acid, in which a hydrogen atom is replaced by a serine residue, and belongs to phospholipids. It is a component of the inner layer of the plasma membrane.
Phosphatidylserine accounts for less than 10% of the total amount of phospholipids found in the human body. There are approximately 30 g of phosphatidylserine in the human body, with about half of this amount (13 g) present in brain tissue. In the brain, phosphatidylserine accounts for 15% of the total phospholipid pool.
There are 16 scientific studies demonstrating the effect of phosphatidylserine on reducing the symptoms of dementia or cognitive impairment.
*Studies have shown that in athletes, phosphatidylserine improves performance, enhances the hormonal response to exercise-induced stress, and reduces muscle damage. For cyclists, weightlifters, golfers, and endurance runners, phosphatidylserine is an effective supplement for combating exercise-induced stress by inhibiting the increase in the catabolic hormone cortisol. Phosphatidylserine supplementation promotes the hormonal balance necessary for athletes and may alleviate the physiological wear and tear that accompanies overtraining and/or overexertion. Recent studies have shown that phosphatidylserine improves mood in a group of young people during mental stress and also increases accuracy in golfers by increasing stress resistance (*wikipedia.org/wiki/Фосфатидилсерин).
Precautions for use: should not be used as a substitute for a balanced diet. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Not recommended for pregnant women, nursing mothers, and children under 18 years of age. Consult your doctor before use.
